A Samoan school teacher who admitted to one count of possession of narcotics has been discharged without a conviction at the Supreme Court in Apia.
The defendant, Tanielu Viali, whose name suppression has been lifted, appeared before Justice Vui Clarence Nelson yesterday.
He is the only science teacher at Saint Joseph's College at Alafua.
The police had charged Viali when a small quantity of cannabis wrapped in a piece of paper was found in his possession at a party.
He has been ordered to pay a fine of 150 US dollars or face a jail term of 3 months in default.
