Fiji leader values MSG support in international arena

Fiji's interim Prime Minister says the support from the Melanesian Spearhead Group over his so-called roadmap to elections is as important as reinstatement to the Pacific islands Forum.

Last week, the MSG governments of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu said they would attempt to get the Pacific Islands Forum to lift Fiji's suspension.

Commodore Frank Bainimarama has told Auckland's Radio Tarana that the leaders understood what his government is trying to do.

"We have managed to inform the MSG of what are road map is, and they've understood it, and they've accepted it. It's not so much being reinstated as another voice to the international community of what we are doing. Which is as important."
