A former commander of the Fiji Navy, Commander Viliame Naupoto, is now at the helm of the Fiji Trade and Investment Board.

Mr Naupoto has told FijiLive that he has taken over as FTIB chairman after last week's departure of Francis Narayan.

Mr Narayan returned to New Zealand after publicly citing differences with management.

Mr Naupoto is also the acting permanent secretary at the Ministry of Fisheries, a position he was transferred to early last month.

A month earlier he was moved from the position of Director of Immigration to that of acting permanent secretary in the Prime Minister's Office.
