American Samoa bus driver plead not guilty to child beating charge

A government school bus driver in American Samoa accused of beating a 13-year old girl has entered a not guilty plea in the High Court.

Teutusi Satele waived the preliminary examination of his case in the District Court and was bound over to the High Court where he appeared to enter the plea.

The court has set the next hearing in the case for July the 20th.

Mr Satele is charged with first-degree assault and he is being held at the Tafuna Correctional Facility on bail of 35,000 US dollars.
