Vanuatu's Trade Minister James Bule has denied allegations by the Speaker of parliament that he misused 400,000 US dollars in copra subsidies last year.
Mr Bule says while not publicly released, the audit on how the copra subsidies in the last quarter of 2008 were used has cleared him of any wrongdoing.
But he says the speaker, George Wells, is stirring the issue to try and topple the government.
"But the report, the finance report, has been produced and circulated to the Finance Ministry and my Ministry and considering the allegations when the report came out, I think nothing was wrong. The receipts and everything were right, were correct, and therefore the Ministry of Finance was satisfied."
Meanwhile, George Wells has been dismissed from the National United Party which James Bule also belongs to for persisting with the allegations against the Minister.
But Mr Wells has taken at least two MPs with him from the government coalition partner, leaving NUP with just seven MPs.
