After much controversy and uncertainty, the multimillion dollar Natadola Bay Resort and golf course was officially opened at the weekend in the presence of hundreds of invited guests.
Fiji Village reports that the 400 room resort, funded by the Fiji National Provident Fund, is expected to employ more than 400 local workers and cost around 100 million US dollars to build.
Speaking at the official opening of the resort, the interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama, said his Government wants to ensure the tourism dollar is spread across all sectors of society.
