Fiji's interim government has only itself to blame for its suspension from the Pacific Islands Forum.
That's the view of Peceli Kinivuwai, the director of Laisenia Qarase's SDL Party, who says its unfair for the interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum to blame Australia and New Zealand for the decision.
The interim Attorney General says the two countries have used their economic and political power to influence the position of other Pacific leaders.
But Mr Kinivuwai rejects that accusation.
"The members of the forum are leaders in their own right, they have made decisions on their own volition, and they have decided to exclude Fiji and that's it. We should not be pushing blame to New Zealand and Australia. Fiji at this point in time have become victims of their own doings and as such we should not be complaining."
Peceli Kinivuwai says Pacific leaders must be tough on Fiji so the interim government will realise the consequences of its actions.
