French Polynesia's opposition leader, Gaston Flosse, has called for an investigation into the territory's international carrier, Air Tahiti Nui.
Speaking in the assembly, he says a commission should be set up to probe the running of the airline.
Mr Flosse says he concurs with the accounts office report that found that the airline was on a good footing in 2003 and 2004.
However, he notes that since 2005 there have been too many changes at the top of the airline, the launch of unprofitable routes were made without preparatory studies and there has been a proliferation of giving away free tickets.
