There has been a further delay in Fiji to restore the courts after all judges were sacked by presidential decree nearly three weeks ago.
The interim regime was expected to announce judges to the High Court and Supreme Court two weeks ago but the interim attorney-general, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, then said it was going to happen last week.
There was, however, a delay, with the interim government spokesperson saying that the appointments were to be made yesterday or today.
But so far, no judge has been appointed to the higher courts, although Mr Sayed-Khaiyum has said there are individuals interested in joining the bench.
It is not known who is vying to be appointed as there are claims that those who choose to take up such a position could be deemed to be supporting a treasonous and illegal regime.
