French Polynesia's opposition Tahoeraa Huiraatira has lost another key member, with the former health minister, Jacques Raynal, quitting the party which was founded and is being led by Gaston Flosse.
This comes a day after one of the territory's members of the French assembly, Bruno Sandras, announced his departure from the Tahoeraa ranks.
Dr Raynal echoed the criticism of Mr Sandras, saying the party is determined to exclude people who could revive it.
He says the Tahoeraa lacks vision and has no real political programme.
This week, it suspended two members who continued to be ministers in the Oscar Temaru-led government although Mr Flosse has positioned his party in the opposition.
