A former Solomon Islands MP, Peter Shanel, will be seeking re-election to the seat he lost last year after he was jailed for attacking a student with a knife.
The by-election for the Central Guadalcanal seat is to be held on May the 6th and will be contested by three candidates.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation says after the withdrawal of the candidacy of Joash Salani, those left in the race also includes a former minister and MP, Walton Naezon.
