There are reports that the interim government in Fiji may seek to shut out some political parties from talks aimed at building a consensus towards elections.
The general secretary of the National Federation Party Pramod Rae says his party intends to attend the next scheduled talks on Thursday despite receiving mixed signals about whether they will be welcome.
"We've heard on no less than three or four times now over the last few weeks some general irritation with ourselves from the interim regime and from the military. They say they are going to exclude the NFP and the SDL and some other parties and NGOs."
Pramod Rae says talks held earlier had increased understanding between political parties, and the interim government may now be afraid that the talks could succeed.
The talks are a prelude to the President's Political Dialogue Forum which will include Commonwealth and United Nations representatives.
