The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee - FASANOC, is now intensely lobbying, to see that Fiji is allowed to take part in the Commonwealth Games in India next year.

Following Fiji's suspension from the Councils of the Commonwealth, FASANOC says it won't let politics dictate their future in the Games.

FASANOC President - Vidya Lakhan says for the past few months, he has been in negotiations with executives from the Commonwealth Games Federation to change the requirements for member countries to compete.

Mr Lakhan adds even with a full suspension, he has been assured that Fiji will still be eligible to compete in Delhi next year.

He also says politics has no place in sports, and the Commonwealth Games Federation has its own set of rules to follow.

It's expected the CGF will discuss FASANOC's proposal at a meeting in May.
