The Department of Labour in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas has barred a company from hiring alien workers after it failed to pay the wages of former employees.
Senior company members include a former congressman and the Labour deputy secretary Andrew Salas.
Under a settlement agreement, a Labour Administrative official, Jerry Cody, says Da Kine Inc, its president, Andrew Salas - the Labour Administration deputy secretary - and corporate officer, William Mott, are disqualified from employing alien workers for three years.
The order says that the two men may petition to lift this bar once the settlement amounts, including damages, are fully paid.
