Three people are facing murder charges in Samoa after separate incidents over the Christmas holiday period.
A 41-year-old man from Sataoa allegedly used a knife to kill a 32 year old man from the same village on Christmas Day.
A 40 year old is charged with a separate killing in Aleisa the same day.
A third man, from Siumu, has been charged with the murder of a 48-year-old man in the same village on Boxing Day.
Police, meanwhile are close to charging a 43 year old suspect, for the death of a Samata-tai youth, on Boxing Day.
No arrests have been made in relation to a fifth death, that of a 34 year old man in Fasitoo uta.
Police have said that death may be as the result of a hit and run car accident.
