Fiji's interim Tourism Minister says an updated New Zealand government travel advisory cautioning people about potential violence in Fiji, is baseless.
The advisory was changed after New Zealand's acting High Commissioner was forced to return home.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says his country will not put up with being bullied by New Zealand.
He says there has been no change in Fiji's domestic security, and he sees the warning as an attempt to undermine Fiji's valuable tourism industry.
"If you can point out exactly in terms of what this interim government, that has been appointed by the President is doing, let's talk about it, let's engage with each other, but don't bully us, we don't want to be bullied, we want to be treated with dignity."
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says it is fortunate that the travel advisory seems to have had little impact on the number of New Zealand tourists coming to Fiji.
