Solomons police charge man for trying to sell computer to police officer

Solomon Islands police have charged a 17-year-old man for larceny after he tried to sell a stolen computer to the acting Police Commissioner.

Peter Marshall was off-duty on Saturday morning when the man walked up to his parked car and offered to sell him a computer.

Mr Marshall says he thought this strange and took the details of the man.

He he found out later the computer had been reported stolen.

The 17-year old has been granted bail and is expected to appear in the Honiara Magistrates Court in January.
