Samoa Football Soccer Federation to be taken over by FIFA committee

2:00 pm on 22 November 2008

Samoa's Sports Tribunal has ruled in favour of the proposed FIFA normalisation committee to take over the affairs of the Samoa Football Soccer Federation.

The tribunal has given the committee up to 12 months to arrange the settlement of the more than half a million US dollars federation debt.

It has also ordered the current president, Tole'afoa Tautulu Roebeck, to step down and hand over all keys of the federation's complex and vehicles as well as all other properties to the chairman of the normalisation committee when they arrive in the country.

The ruling comes after the tribunal heard last month a dispute brought against the current administration.
