A small airline in New Caledonia is set to get three Twin Otter planes to provide a service in the Loyalty group of islands.

According to the territory's daily newspaper, Air Loyaute [loo-eye-aw-teh] will get two new Twin Otter aircraft in late 2010 and in early 2011.

The carrier will also get a second hand plane which is being reconditioned by the manufacturer in Canada after 20 years of service in the Antilles.

The acquisition is in line with a French policy to promote inter-island flights.
