A senior opposition MP in Samoa has revealed a planned vote of no confidence against the ruling party before it tables its third financial year budget for the current five year parliamentary term.
This will be a test for the ruling party if it still has the support of the two thirds majority of the 49 seats in parliament to pass the next financial year budget.
Political sources say the no confidence vote plan is another move by the opposition MPs against the government's controversial road side switch already passed into law which will become a reality in September next year.
A senior independent politician says several opposition MPs have approached him for support.
The ruling HRPP party is currently holding 34 seats of the 49 seat parliament.
