Fiji's Citizens' Constitutional Forum, the CCF, has come out against the possibility of a convicted former permanent secretary to be given a top job in the interim government.
Peniasi Kunatuba has been convicted for corruption and is serving his extramural sentence at Prison Headquarters.
But the permanent secretary in the interim prime minister's office Parmesh Chand has told the Fiji Times that the interim government was open to using the skills and knowledge of qualified inmates like Mr Kunatuba.
Mr Chand says there has not been any decision when Mr Kunatuba would start in the PM's Office,
But the CCF's executive director the Reverend Akuila Yabaki says a public servant convicted of corruption should never be reappointed to any senior position in government.
The military, whose leader has made himself the interim prime minister, claims to have seized power in 2006 to weed out corruption.
