In Solomon Islands, a Japanese longline fishing boat, the FV Kinei Maru 118, has been fined almost 300 thousand US dollars for breaching its fishing license conditions.

The vessel was found to have transshipped at sea on two separate occasions and had failed to keep records or supply relevant information to the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources as required.

The Kinei Maru 118 is operated by Japan Tuna Fisheries that has a valid license to fish in Solomon Islands Waters under a bilateral arrangement with the Solomon Islands Government.
