Dengue fever cases continue to climb in American Samoa, with the number of confirmed cases reaching 83.

The Department of Health's medical director Dr. Ivan Tuliau says the agency is looking at 14 new confirmed cases on top of the 69 cases reported earlier.

A 10 year old boy has died from the disease.

Health officials in the territory continue to urge residents to clean their surrounding areas, especially places where mosquito breed.
