Waisale Serevi back with the Fiji Rugby Union

7:24 am on 10 September 2008

The veteran sevens player/coach Waisale Serevi has been reinstated as Fiji's coach for the upcoming International Rugby Board 2008-2009 sevens series.

Serevi was dumped as coach after the sides dramatic loss to Wales in the Cup quarter finals in Edinburgh during the 2006/2007 season

Fiji would have retained their overall crown had they pocketed the 12 tournament points on offer for a quarter-final win, but they threw away the title in spectacular fashion with New Zealand winning the series title.

However, Serevi who signed a new contract with the Fiji Rugby Union this week, will now prepare his side for the upcoming series and more importantly the defence of their World Cup title in Dubai next year.
