Landowners of Vivili Village outside Savusavu have threatened to close off water supply to an international resort if workers who were terminated from the resort are not re-employed.
The Fiji Times reports the seven-day notice, which the landowners handed to the Namale resort last week, expired on Wednesday.
Divisional labour officer northern, Malakai Raikoti, said he would meet resort lawyers and management today to discuss the termination.
It's alleged the workers were terminated after differences arose with resort management over an education allocation for landowners' children.
Landowners have also demanded the resort compensate them for the use of their water for the past 30 years.
