Nine candidates for CNMI's Washington

Nine candidates are vying in the first congressional election for the Northern Marianas.

CNMI will elect its first non-voting delegate to Congress in the November the 4th general elections.

At present CNMI is the only US territory without a delegate to Congress.

It has a resident representative in Washington, D.C.

Seven candidates are running as independents.

The Republican and Democratic parties each have a candidate.

The current CNMI resident representative in Washington D.C. Pete Tenorio is running.

Others making a bid for Congress are former Judge, Juan Lizama, Senator Luis Crisostimo, and high school teacher John Davis.
