Guam denies report of dengue among its Arts Festival participants

Despite earlier media reports the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services says none of Guam's participants at the Arts Festival in American Samoa has dengue fever.

The Guam Health Department says to date no cases of dengue have been reported among the members of the Guam delegation.

Meanwhile, the American Samoa Health Department says during the Festival there were four confirmed cases of dengue treated at the LBJ Hospital.

Two were festival participants and two were locals.

American Samoa health official are urging people to take precautions such as draining water from likely breeding spots, wearing protective clothing and using insect repellent.
