Solomon Islands NPF has to pay out millions of dollars in dividends

Solomon Islands only social security service provider, the National Provident Fund, has announced it will pay a dividend of 18 percent to its 130 thousand members.

The payout is worth a total of nearly 15 million US dollars.

It is the second consecutive year the NPF has paid out 18 percent - its highest ever.

The NPF has investments in the Bank of South Pacific, Solomon Telekom, South Pacific Oil and offshore fixed term deposits in various currencies with the ANZ Bank in Singapore.
