The Solomon Islands Public Employees Union's threat to stage a nationwide strike this Friday has been withdrawn.
The union's General Secretary, Paul Belande says the government has agreed to address public servants outstanding demands.
He says the government made the undertaking during a meeting with government officials and the Prime Minister yesterday.
Because of that, Mr Belande said they have withdrawn the planned strike action.
The union was seeking a 40 percent wage increase and the settlement of other issues.
