The Solomon Islands acting police commissioner Peter Marshall says they hope to present a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions over the death of a nurse next week.
Two off-duty Samoan police officers were in a RAMSI vehicle which was involved in a car accident that resulted in the death of the woman last weekend.
Mr Marshall says they have interviewed one of the officers involved as well as a number of witnesses to establish what happened in the lead up to the accident.
He says once they have interviewed the second officer who was flown to Brisbane for medical treatment they will present a case to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
"We will be liaising closely with the hospital to determine when he can be spoken to but we expect next week to send a senior Solomon Island police force investigator over there and he will be spoken to. We have to get a medical certificate in relation to the post mortem examination and essentially the file will be ready to deliver to the Director of the Public Prosecutions at that stage, possibly at the end of next week."
