The police in Fiji say they have almost completed an investigation into death threats made against the Australian High Commissioner, James Batley.

The threats, received last month, were contained in letters, which arrived at Mr Batley's office in Suva.

A police spokesperson says the investigation has been very positive and is almost over.

She wouldn't comment on the likelihood of an arrest, but says police have two possible suspects.
