Samoa's government has given priority to education and health in the next year's 300 million US dollar budget.
The government has allocated about 30 million US dollars to education, marking an 11-percent increase.
One million will go towards village school materials such as books and two million as grants for church and private schools.
The health ministry will get a 17-percent boost with about 35 million US dollars.
Four million will be for overseas medical treatment.
The government has also allocated more than two million to the dialysis unit which now treats 42 patients.
Samoa expects overseas grants of 24 million US dollars over five years from Australia, New Zealand, and the World Bank.
