6:10 am on 2 June 2008

Civil society organisations from ten Pacific nations have met in Suva last week for a training programme on making governance gender responsive.

Thirty participants attended from ten nations, including Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Nauru, and Solomon Islands.

The participants came together to learn how to develop effective campaigns for promoting gender sensitive legislative change and governance.

They learned about strategies, such as gender budgeting, auditing and analysis, and how to use and develop gendered statistics.
