A soldier from Palau has been killed during training with the US military before his planned deployment to Iraq.
During his weekly press conference, President Tommy Remengesau identified the soldier as Philton Ueki.
The president however says that the circumstances of the death are not yet known.
Ueki belonged to the United States Army and stationed in California but was training in Kentucky when the accident occurred.
