An Indonesian warship has arrested a Chinese-owned ship in the Fak-Fak waters of Papua province.
The Antara news agency reports that the MV Fuyuan Yu F 80 was arrested for having no legal documents while fishing in waters rich in tuna.
The arrest of the Chinese ship began when the KRI Arun warship detected a suspicious ship with a foreign name and flag, then intercepted and searched it.
The ship was reported to have the capacity to carry 1,000 tonnes of fish catch.
A navy spokesman said the number of the Chinese crew members, including the skipper, didn't match the vessel's manifest, which is also a violation of the law.
