No conviction a year on from Fiji killing

The mother of a Fiji teenager killed after being allegedly assaulted by security forces last year says she is frustrated that the case is progressing slowly.

Eight men, seven of whom were soldiers, were charged with the murder of Nadi teenager Sakiusa Rabaka last October.

That case was sent to the High Court in January and adjourned until March.

The victim's mother, Alinieta Rabaka, says she nobody has been brought to justice.

"Other criminal investigations are treated the same and just the last week we had a murder case and it has gone to court within the week and Saki's case has gone over a year now and nothing's been happening maybe because it's the military involved."
