The Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission will this year review the Penal Code and the Criminal Code.
The Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Toswell Kaua, says the Commission will focus on loopholes in the Penal Code.
The Minister has told Parliament that the review is also an ideal opportunity to look into traditional humane practices as alternative penalties for some offences.
Mr Kaua says the Commission would receive submissions from provincial stakeholders during a tour of the provinces.
