The interim Prime Minister of Fiji, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has responded to criticism of his support for China's actions against Tibetan protestors.
Commodore Bainimarama says he supports the police and army operations China has used to quell riots in Tibet and neighbouring provinces.
He says the protests warrant appropriate action, to maintain peace and stability.
While calling on commentators and the media not to distort the facts, Commodore Bainimarama also noted Fiji values China's contribution to the economy.
