Former Silver Ferns, Vilimaina Davu, has proven that she is worthy of playing for the Northern Mystics in the new Transtasman netball competition after being declined in January.

Netball New Zealand who declined the application after Vilimaina's assessment after the world championships in Auckland late last year has now done a turnaround and given the former Fiji player/coach the go ahead.

Davu becomes the second ineligible player along with Samoan Catherine Latu.

Mystics CEO Mark Cameron says Davu was always part of the teams plans, and is pleased that the right decision has been made.

"Yeah we're really pleased ah Vilimaina was a very important part of our plans for 2008 ANZ championships so really pleased with the decision that's been made."

The transtasman netball competition begins in April.
