Tonga's Minister of Transport says that the Government should finalise its decision on the new second domestic airline for Tonga.

The Matangi Tonga Online reports Paul Karalus as saying Air Chatham is the most likely choice to replace Peau Vava'u as Tonga's second domestic air operator starting in April.

Peau Vava'u surrendered its Air Operator's Certificate in January.

Peau Vava'u has been out of service since the November riots in 2006 which destroyed their office.

Since then the domestic air service has been serviced solely by Airline Tonga, a Fiji Air-Teta Tours joint venture.
