The High Court in Fiji has ordered businessman Ballu Khan to be released from police custody after ruling that he did not breach any of his bail conditions.

The Fiji Times reports Mr Khan was interviewed for allegedly breaching his bail conditions when he drove to Nausori Airport shortly after lunch yesterday to pick up his lawyers.

In a statement the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions said Mr Khan could only leave his home for medical attention or to report to the police station.

Judge Daniel Goundar ordered Mr Khan be released because he did not breach his bail conditions.

Justice Goundar explained that Mr Khan is only on curfew between 6pm to 6am and was free to move around in the day.

The paper reports that Mr Khan says he is happy with the decision but is significantly concerned about the continuous harassment by police.
