Vanuatu's new correctional centre will have a facility for high-risk inmates to be separated from other prisoners.
The Minister for Justice, Joshua Kalsakau, made the revelation while tabling amendments to the Correctional Service Act in parliament.
The new national Correctional Centre is to be built on ten hectares of land near the Etas area of Efate.
Mr Kalsakau says that five hectares of the land alone will house inmates.
He indicated construction on the new facility would begin next year.
