A jury in Tonga has found six people involved in last November's riots in Tonga guilty on 17 charges.

The Matangi Tonga online reports that a seventh accused, a woman, was found guilty on only one charge.

The six men and one woman are the second group facing charges relating to the riots in Nuku'alofa.

Chief Justice Anthony Ford discharged the jury after hearing their verdict and then adjourned his sentencing of the seven accused to February 8, 2008.

Last month, the first group of people accused of the riots were found not guilty by a jury.
