The Fiji Law Society has called on political parties and some NGOs commenting on the alleged assassination conspiracy against key figures not to politicise the judicial and legal processes that are currently under way.
The Fiji Sun says the Law Society president, Isireli Fa, was responding to calls by certain politicians for lawyer's organisations to make a stand on the arrests made on November the 3rd and the subsequent developments.
Mr Fa says the politicisation of these events would affect the judicial and legal processes which must be allowed to continue uninterrupted if they are to come to fruition.
He says any unwarranted criticism of the judicial and legal system for political mileage must be avoided.
Mr Fa says the Law Society and its members have so far not seen any reason why the judicial system should be questioned.
He has thanked the lawyers who have accepted briefs to defend the 11 accused and urged them to continue with their good work.
