The Solomon Islands government has formalized an agreement with the Papua New Guinea government covering the recently introduced weekly Air Niugini service from Honiara to Fiji.
The twice weekly flights connect Port Moresby with Honiara and Nadi.
The PNG High Commissioner, Parai Tamei, said the flights are a response to the call by the Melanesian Spearhead Group Leaders two years ago for a harmonization of air services by the Melanesian bloc.
