A group of ten New Zealand based Pacific Island entrepreneurs is off to Samoa and Tonga this week to investigate possible business opportunities.
The mission is led by the Pacific Islands Trade & Investment Commission, or PITIC, an agency of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
Dubravka Voloder reports
"For the first time, the PITIC is leading a group of New Zealand-based businesspeople to Samoa and Tonga to inspire them to seek new business there. The organisation's trade commissioner, Chris Cocker, says they want to encourage more Pacific people to look at their homelands as a potential business opportunity and to invest in their economies. Mr Cocker says the delegates know their home countries, the language, and customs and understand their target markets. The delegation's members will start their business meetings in Samoa tomorrow and will move on to Tonga on Thursday."
