Members of the Kingmi Church in the capital of Papua province are bracing themselves for another occupation of their premises by Indonesian Police.
Mobile paramilitary police supported by Indonesian military forcibly entered and ransacked the Papuan Church's Jayapura office two days ago.
The police occupation ended early yesterday.
The Kingmi church is reportedly being targetted by a group from the Indonesian Tabernacle Bible Church which, with police support, wants to gain control of the Kingmi church assets.
This is the third time since December that police have occupied the office despite a court ruling that the Kingmi church are the legal owners of the office.
The Reverend Benny Giay from the Kingmi Church says the larger Indonesian church has even started to use other Papuans in its campaign against the Kingmi.
"Although they left, they're going to come back to occupy it [the Kingmi synod office]. I don't know... we feel like we are being treated as enemy of the state, enemy of the public."
