Talks with 25 airlines to consider flying to the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas are underway.
The director and principal consultant of United Kingdom-based Airport Strategic Marketing, or ASM, John Woolf, said they are meeting with airlines from countries, including Korea, Japan, China and Russia.
Mr Woolf's company entered into a two-year contract worth $256,000 with the Commonwealth Ports Authority to develop new routes for the CNMI.
Based on the contract, the CPA would grant the ASM company an incentive of $15,000 per maiden flight.
He told the Saipan Tribune, they couldn't divulge any specific airlines that they're approaching at this stage.
