Samoa's government has started the second round of selecting seasonal workers for horticulture and viticulture farms in New Zealand.

The chief executive officer of the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Auseugaefa Va'asatia, says it has received more than two thousand applications, and the selection process should take two weeks.

Auseugaefa says the chosen applicants will leave for New Zealand at the end of August.

Meanwhile, he says the seasonal worker who was prosecuted for breach of immigration laws has been found guilty of breaching immigration laws while working for the Mr Apple Company in the Hawkes bay.

Isaia Lei'ataua has been served with a removal order by the New Zealand immigration department.
