The New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Fiji, Michael Greenslade, says American Samoa holds much promise for light industries that can manufacture goods for the US market.

Mr Greenslade is in American Samoa to hold discussions with the Chamber of Commerce and to gather facts about doing business there.

He says there are good opportunities for both American Samoa and New Zealand.

"The most significant opportunity as I see it is the opportunity for joint manufacturing opportunities here in Pago, whereby New Zealand companies in conjunction with Pago Pago companies can put product directly into the USA."
